The findings from a “Regional Commuter Rail Connectivity Study” were presented by Sam Lott at the Livable Houston Initiative meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Houston-Galveston Area Council.

Houstonians for Responsible Growth have posted video of the four speakers from the Land Use Forum which we cosponsored.

KUHF is reporting that the City of Houston, METRO, UPRR, and the Gulf Coast Freight Rail District are going to partner together to make the Harrisburg grade separation happen, which will allow METRO to send the new light rail line all the way to the Magnolia Transit Center.

The Board of METRO voted today to go ahead with pursuing the METRO Solutions options that will best serve the people of Houston.

The Transportation Policy Council, a governing board of the Houston-Galveston Area Council made up of elected officials from around the region, expects to vote to approve the draft 2035 Regional Transportation Plan on August 24th, when it will be sent to the Federal Transportation Administration.
